B N Goswamy a noted Indian art historian and critic passed away on 17/11/2023 . A recipient of the Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan , his association with DCC began decades ago when he was involved with the project of revival of the Chamba Rumal in its nascent stage . His article on the relation between rumals and miniature painting in the catalogue is noteworthy . We acknowledge his valuable contribution to our project and pay tribute to his memory.
This year has found us once again in the midst of an even worse manifestation of the pandemic.
Our artisans who were struggling to recover from last years distress find themselves bearing the brunt of both the health and economic related crisis that the pandemic has created.
We once again appeal to you to open your hearts to help our artisans. We would like to be able to help them in the areas of health related concerns as well as economic rehabilitation.
We will be working out specific programmes addressing the particular needs of pools of artisans whom we are in touch with.
Please help us to support our artisans in this grave situation.

It is with great sorrow we inform you of the tragic demise of Shilp Guru Sardar Hussain due to COVID.
He was a master craftperson, National Awardee from Pilkhuwa, Uttar Pradesh and had received a number of other awards during his lifetime.
Delhi Crafts Council ‘s Covid-19 Artisans Help Fund has been created specifically to help artisans and their families to tide over this huge crisis.
‘Covid-19 Artisans HELP FUND’ is being created by Delhi Crafts Council to help crafts persons tide over the difficult months ahead. We do feel that timely intervention will help in the survival of this sector which provides sustainable livelihoods to millions, mostly in rural areas. We appeal to you to support the Council with a donation.
